Patrick Mahomes Names The Top 5 Quarterbacks Of All Time & Leaves Himself Out

This past season, Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes won his second Super Bowl championship, swiftly establishing himself as one of the greatest quarterbacks in NFL history.

Mahomes will play in his eighth season as a pro this year, but with two Super Bowl rings already under his belt, many football fans are curious as to how many he will have amassed by the end of the day.

Patrick Mahomes Names The Top 5 Quarterbacks Of All Time & Leaves Himself Out

The best quarterback in the NFL is without a doubt Patrick Mahomes. He is a genuine living legend. There’s a reason why he received his own tier in our Christian D’Andrea’s most recent signal-caller rankings. And even at the young age of 27, Mahomes might be considered one of the best players in history given what he has already achieved.

just one person apparently disagrees. Mahomes himself.

The Kansas City Chiefs star listed his top five NFL quarterbacks in a recent interview with Complex’s Ben Felderstein, in which Mahomes unthinkably claimed that winning a second Super Bowl had made him feel less under pressure. To those who regularly follow the NFL and professional football, no name is inherently surprising, but Mahomes left himself off.

Mahomes’ list goes: Brady, Peyton Manning, Rodgers, Montana, plus Dan Marino and John Elway tied for fifth place.

Mahomes has a list of the best five quarterbacks of all time, just like every other sports fan.

“Yeah, I mean you got to say Tom [Brady]‘s one,” Mahomes told Ben Felderstein of Complex. “But if you talk about the legends of the game, Tom, Peyton Manning, obviously Aaron Rodgers, Joe Montana and then it gets down to Dan Marino or John Elway to round off your top five. But I mean there’s some great quarterbacks that played this game man, I’m just trying to learn from them because even though the game has progressed, there’s still stuff in the past that helps you become a better quarterback.”

He humbly did not take his name.

Currently, Mahomes is considered to be the third-best quarterback of all time. He possesses a resume. Both MVPs and Super Bowl MVPs belong to him. Despite having only played for five years, he has the stats. All that is lacking is greater consistency over the course of a lengthy career, which is also almost unavoidable.

It’s probably not insane right now for Mahomes to leave himself off of a list of the best quarterbacks. He still has a lot to do, after all.
