Post Game 3 Blowout Against Miami, Celtics’ Coach Joe Mazzulla Acknowledges The Locker Room Rift
Joe Mazzulla, the head coach of the Boston Celtics, was very certain who was to blame for the team’s lopsided defeat in Game 3. Mazzulla stated to the reporters that he thought he had lost the squad in the locker room.
During his postgame news conference, Boston Celtics head coach Joe Mazzulla was quite open about his team’s humiliating 128-102 loss to the Miami Heat on Sunday night.
Celtics’ Coach Joe Mazzulla Acknowledges The Locker Room Rift
The Boston Celtics looked like a complete disaster in a game when they went behind by as many as 33 points and key players Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown combined for just 26 points. The Celtics were playing like a team with extra lives while the Heat came out with a mission.
The Boston Celtics' inability to beat the 2-3 under Brad Stevens and now Joe Mazzulla drives me crazy.
Tatum needs to be playing point. Get Williams back in the game. It's not that difficult to beat. Just watch Ime Udoka tape. pic.twitter.com/OC74YX0NKS

As a result, Boston not only risks elimination but also has a very real chance of being swept on Tuesday.
When questioned following the game about if he believes there is a separation between himself and the Celtics, he said that it has reached dangerous levels.
Following a 128-102 drubbing at the hands of the Miami Heat on Sunday night, Mazzulla and Boston have fought and clawed their way into the Eastern Conference Finals. However, they are already down 3-0 in the series after suffering yet another defeat.

Yes, that’s where I need to improve in order to determine what this team needs in order to be connected, physically present, and working as a unit by the time we walk on the floor.
Mazzulla said, “I’m not sure,” in response to a follow-up inquiry regarding the reason he believes there to be a gap.

You most definitely do not want to hear it from your head coach. Even if it is true that the Celtics players have started to ignore Mazzulla, you wouldn’t want to announce it to the public, particularly after such a humiliating loss in the postseason.
— On the Celtics’ stars taking responsibility for the loss: “No, it starts with me. I have to be better. … I think they’re doing everything they can to be in position. We just have to be better.”
Celtics: “our rebounding has been terrible and Horford hasn’t been shooting well. We need to make lineup changes”

The squad has to come together and execute their defensive strategies well in Game 4 to prevent a humiliating result. The Celtics, led by Marcus Smart, have a reputation for a strong defence, and upholding this reputation will be essential to winning a victory.
