Even though the Minnesota Twins are in first position in the AL Central division, the team’s lacklustre offence continues to irk Twin Cities supporters.

After a strange few months in which he supposedly had agreements with the San Francisco Giants and the New York Mets before both deals fell apart, Correa made a surprise return to Minnesota in the winter.

How is that choice holding up five months later? Unfavorable for Minnesota.

Correa is cutting right now.185/.263/.363 in 124 at-bats with 23 hits. He recently went 0-for-5 in the Twins’ 6-1 defeat to the San Diego Padres, and as a result, he felt obligated to address his recent form slump in front of the media.

The booing would have been considerably louder at CitiField if Correa had been performing that way.

It seems like a bullet that was avoided at this point. Can you picture spending the money on him only to find that payroll and luxury tax were both greater and this team was even worse?

The Mets & Giants can look back on that fleeting period and pat themselves on the back for side-stepping that future catastrophe.

The Houston Astros chose Carlos Correa first overall in the 2012 MLB Draft, and in June 2015, he made his MLB debut. Correa has played in the Major League Baseball with the Minnesota Twins, where he is presently employed, as well as the Houston Astros.
