In 2018 and 2019, he served as the Philadelphia Phillies’ manager.

The new contract extends Kapler’s employment through the 2024 season; however, the terms of the agreement were not made public. When the Giants hired him as the 39th manager in team history in November 2019, he was initially under a three-year contract. His salary is $1,050,000.
