The former Defensive Player of the Year has several new ventures planned, host Molly Qerim remarked during Watt’s interview on “First Take” on Wednesday. The first item Qerim listed—Watt becoming the new co-host of “The Pat McAfee Show”—seemed to be important breaking news. Stephen A. Smith applauded and complimented Watt on his significant new position.
According to Qerim, one of Watt’s retirement jobs was co-hosting “The Pat McAfee Show.” Chris Russo and Stephen A. Smith both expressed astonishment and congratulations to the potential Hall of Famer.

“You have a lot of exciting new projects, beyond being a new dad: You’ll be the new co-host of ‘The Pat McAfee Show,” Qerim said.
Only Watt himself may have been more shocked than Smith and Russo. Watt asked upon informed of his new position: “Am I?” Watt responded that it wasn’t the case when Qerim claimed to have been assured such was the situation.
“Did you send me a contract that I’m unaware of?” said Watt. “This is great for television.”

She also stated that Qerim felt quite uncomfortable at the time. Despite the Wisconsin Badgers alum’s desire to enter the podcasting world, it clarified the potential of Watt joining “The Pat McAfee Show”. The details of Watt’s plans are still unknown.
At the conclusion of the 2022 season, J.J. Watt’s illustrious but injury-marred NFL career came to an end. With his current free schedule, the former defensive end for the Houston Texans and Arizona Cardinals wants to try something new.
