Matt Corral Shares A Cryptic Post After Panthers Drafted Bryce Young
Bryce Young of Alabama was taken with the first overall choice by the Carolina Panthers on Thursday night, becoming the team’s quarterback of the future. On the other hand, Matt Corral has something to say about it!
A year after the Panthers selected former Ole Miss star Matt Corral in the third round of the 2022 draft, Young was chosen. Due to a Lisfranc injury sustained during a preseason game against the New England Patriots, Corral did not participate in a single down last year.
Matt Corral Shares A Cryptic Post After Panthers Drafted Bryce Young
The revelation hit one Carolina player particularly hard even though the Panthers had already hinted at the plan by dealing for the top pick more than a month before the draft. Former Ole Miss standout Matt Corral expressed his disappointment with the team’s decision on social media before swiftly deleting it.

“Then the father said: ‘I wanted to let you know that you are not worth anything if you are not in the right place. If you are not appreciated, do not be angry.
“’That means you are in the wrong place. Don’t stay in a place where no one sees your value.’”
Panthers QB Matt Corral made an Instagram post suggesting he didn't feel wanted by the Panthers after the Bryce Young selection (He later deleted the post.)
I asked Frank Reich what his message is to Corral and other players who seemingly see their replacement drafted.

Following the draft, reporters directly questioned Panthers head coach Frank Reich about Corral’s position.

“It is an emotional time. I didn’t see the post but I don’t overreact to stuff like that,” Reich said. “Everybody’s trying to jocky and position themselves when the message to all the players is that we earn it on the field.”

After shaking the commissioner’s hand, Bryce Young could not contain his emotions during the post-draft interview.
Really disappointed seeing this. Understand his disappointment, but was hoping he’d get out there and compete and grow. He had/has an opportunity to soak up the coaching knowledge and up his game.

“It’s still crazy. It’s a blessing,” Young said on the NFL Network broadcast. “I’m super grateful to be here. I’m super grateful for the blessings from God for allowing me to be here and for all the people that allowed me to do it. As amazing as this moment is, and I’m going to live in the moment, I can’t wait to get to work tomorrow and start building off of that.”
A humble mindset for a new beginning.@_bryce_young is going to be special.

Corral has every right to post a message regarding his present employment status on social media, but it is dubious strategy to send cryptic statements before demonstrating to your team what you can accomplish at center.
He was drafted by the previous coach, so is probably correct that nobody in CAR now wants him around now that its Bryce Young's team. Think it, know it, sure. However, as a 3rd rounder who missed his entire rookie season on IR, its remarkably dumb to actually *say* this publicly.

Although it doesn’t seem like Corral made an official request for a trade, missing the entire 2022 season hurts Corral’s chances of being selected first overall in 2023.
