Jack Nicholson Is Back At Lakers Game: Welcomed By LeBron James With A Warm Hug

A specific fan—Jack Nicholson—is seated in his usual courtside seat as LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers take on the Memphis Grizzlies in Game 6 of their first-round series on Friday night in Los Angeles.

The 86-year-old acting icon and ardent Lakers supporter hasn’t been spotted anywhere since going to the team’s home opening last year.

Jack Nicholson made his triumphant comeback to the public eye Friday night by attending a LA Lakers playoff game, despite allegations that his health problems keep him confined to his house.

The three-time Oscar winner had something of a hero’s welcome as he sat courtside with his son Ray to watch the Lakers thrash the Memphis Grizzles, 125 to 85, at Crypto.Com Arena in LA.

The NBA Twitter also uploaded a video showing 38-year-old Los Angeles Lakers star James hugging 86-year-old Nicholson.

The actor, who has won three Oscars for his performances in the family drama Terms Of Endearment, the romantic comedy As Good As It Gets, and the psychological thriller One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest, was spotted wearing a dark suit jacket, a black shirt, and purple pants.

Other recent projects by Nicholson include hosting a Saturday Night Live anniversary special in 2015 and appearing on HBO’s The Fight Game With Jim Lampley to pay tribute to Muhammad Ali after the late boxer passed away in June 2016.

Additionally, he spoke with a radio station after Lakers star Kobe Bryant passed away following a helicopter crash in January 2020.

LeBron James, a former Lakers player, stopped his warm-up to talk to Jack and offer him a hug.

Jack smiled for the camera as Tee, the father of Memphis Grizzlies point guard Ja Morant, posed for pictures with him.

Also involved was a journalist who greeted Jack with, “Welcome back.”

Since October 2021, no one had seen Jack at a Lakers game until that night. He was wearing his normal black sunglasses and had his signature Cheshire grin, which gave the impression that he was in good spirits.
