NFL Draft 2023: EX- NFL Player Jason McCourty Roasted Everyone

Jason McCourty had a comment. On stage at the NFL Draft in Kansas City on Friday night, the retired defensive back made the decision to strike.

In the 2018 AFC Championship Game, which McCourty and his brother won as members of the Patriots on their way to a Super Bowl victory for New England, he attacked Chiefs fans. He went after the Kansas City ribs. He disparaged the Jaguars, Pat McAffee, and the Colts.

NFL Draft 2023: EX- NFL Player Jason McCourty Roasted Everyone

Following the completion of his roast, McCourty read the Titans’ draft pick to complete the task that was given to him. However, not until he had cleared his throat of a few things.

Finally, he named Tulane running back Tyjae Spears as Tennessee’s selection.

After promoting his NFL Network program, Good Morning Football, McCourty began by reminding Kansas City supporters of their superior status in the previous year.

“I have to say congratulations to the Kansas City Chiefs. I saw (Patrick) Mahomes and (Travis) Kelce out here. I’ve had some fond memories here. I remember being at Arrowhead Stadium in 2018, when we won the AFC championship game and we went to the Super Bowl,” McCourty exclaimed to a smattering of boos.

After that, he focused on the AFC South. Whatever it implies, he claimed that the Houston Texans will receive their “letterman’s jackets” once more. Since Pat McAfee mocked Tennessee during a similar draft pick announcement rant in Nashville, the Indianapolis Colts were 2-6 against the Titans. Additionally, McCourty pointed out that the Jacksonville Jaguars haven’t had consecutive winning seasons since he was a high school senior.

McCourty spoke for so long that the “pick is in” chimes sounded twice, as if the orchestra were playing someone off stage during an excessively long speech at an awards ceremony.

We didn’t understand why this was so important at the podium on Friday night until we watched the rebroadcast of it online. The fact that the Titans are exchanging trash talk like it’s something to be proud of simply serves to highlight how little Mike Vrabel has to be happy about these days.
