Bates Jones

Following in his brother’s footsteps, Bates Jones, 23, also made a basketball-specific commitment to the Davidson Wildcats. Bates spent four years at Davidson before transferring to Duke.

Bates played forward and received a history degree from Davidson in 2021 along with a minor in economics. He received his master’s degree from Duke’s Fuqua School of Business in May 2022.

The Blue Devils, who lost power players Patrick Tape and Jaemyn Brakefield to transfers and power forward Matthew Hurt to the NBA Draft, will benefit from the 6-foot-8, 225-pounder’s depth and size.

Jones will play for the Blue Devils as a “super senior” and is taking advantage of the additional year of eligibility that the NCAA gave to all players this year.

Bates continues to serve as a graduate assistant for the Dukes’ basketball team.

Ruthie Jones

21-year-old Ruthie Jones plays football at Duke University. Ruthie Jones, the youngest Jones family member, has already competed for her country at the under-23 level.

In the last three years, Daniel has taken on several titles, including that of Eli Manning’s replacement. first-round choice in the draught. Co-captain. Multi-millionaire. He still values his responsibilities as Ruthie and Bates’ older brother and role model, though. The oldest of the four, Rebecca, was a four-year letterwinner in hockey at Davidson (2013–16).

He is making the play calls. He is executing plays. Ruthie said that he was the captain of the team. “I believe it is translated. We refer to it as “commanding the box” in football. I have to focus on doing everyone’s job since I’m the final line of defence. I am ultimately responsible.”

Daniel should be more emotional, say the fans. The press wishes he would be more forthcoming. His teammates adore him for who he is.

“For some people, being a leader is yelling and screaming, getting hyped up and being that sort of energy,” Ruthie said. “In some ways, Daniel and I are less obvious to the rest of the world. What I see from Daniel is I don’t need to become this whole different person in order to lead my team. People will see that and trust me, and that makes the connections we both have on the field within our teams that much more meaningful.”

They formerly belonged to the same team. At home, Ruthie and Daniel would compete against Rebecca and Bates in two-on-two basketball games. According to legend, Ruthie and Daniel won by a huge margin after Rebecca fouled too frequently and the brothers “butted heads a lot.”

Daniel Jones remarked, “It was a pleasant way to grow up, constantly doing stuff together. “We all benefit from each other’s accomplishments.”

Ruthie is the starting custodian for Dukes’ football squad and has played 45 times for the Blue Devils. Ruthie is active on Instagram under the handle @ruthie.jones01 and has published 60 photos, most of which include her family and colleagues.

Inevitably, there are times when an NFL sports talk show comes on a campus television. Maybe someone is criticizing the Giants or their quarterback.

“It’s not something I would choose to watch, but the criticism comes with the praise,” said Ruthie Jones, who has professional soccer prospects if she wants to pursue them. “It’s important for me to see that. It doesn’t affect me and my family as much as it did in the beginning. People ask if I ever get used to seeing Daniel play on TV. I don’t think so. It’s fun to watch most of the time, when they are saying good things.”

Ruthie plans to earn a psychology degree from Dukes in 2023 in addition to a Spanish minor.
