Sources: Ex NBA Player Magic Johnson Joins Group Bidding To Buy Commanders

The Washington Commanders‘ current owner, Dan Snyder, is anticipated to sell the group shortly. In order to prepare for the sale of the franchise, Dan and Tanya Snyder reportedly cleaned out the front office of the Washington Commanders. The most recent bidder for the franchise, according to the most recent rumours, is Magic Johnson, a former NBA player and current owner of the Los Angeles Lakers.

Sources: Magic Johnson joins group bidding to buy Commanders

In an effort to purchase the franchise, Johnson has joined a consortium led by Josh Harris, co-owner of the New Jersey Devils and Philadelphia 76ers. Snyder and the potential buyers’ discussions have advanced over the past few weeks, and a transaction may take place by the end of the month.

In the near future, the team may be sold, and Johnson might be interested in joining the investing group that buys the Commanders.

According to ESPN, the Los Angeles Dodgers co-owner and Basketball Hall of Famer was a part of the Harris Group, who failed to acquire the Denver Broncos and instead sold them to the Walton-Penner Group.

Hence, it is evident that Johnson has long desired to become an NFL owner, and he may now have the opportunity with the Commanders with Josh Harris.

It is anticipated that the Snyders will sell the Washington Commanders fairly shortly. In the past few weeks, there have been a lot of potential buyers and heated negotiations over a completed transaction.

Among them are John Henry, the owner of the Pittsburgh Penguins, Todd L. Boehly, CEO of Eldridge Industries, the Boston Red Sox, and Jeff Bezos, owner of Amazon.

In the upcoming weeks, discussions and speculations will intensify, and by the end of the week, the Commanders may have a new owner. The Snyders are aiming for a selling price of above $7 billion.
