Inside Details of Ja Morant’s $50,000 Strip Club Bender Flashing Guns

The past few weeks have been extremely concerning for fans of the Grizzlies and their promising point guard, Ja Morant. The 23-year-old is currently serving a suspension after flashing a gun during one of his Instagram live sessions at a strip club following the Grizzlies’ loss against the Nuggets. Details have now emerged which confirm that this was not the first time that Morant visited the said strip club.

The Grizzlies absolutely demolished the Houston Rockets 113-99 and just an hour after his team plane touched down in Denver, Morant headed to Shotgun Willie’s with a friend and a security guard. Morant entered from the back door and paid $900 to reserve a private room which was filled with the best of food as well as drinks, in addition to that, the room also had scantily clad women who were dancing all over Morant.

The 23-year-old was extremely generous with his money with reports suggesting that he spent $50,000 over the two days that he visited the joint. “The whole room is full of money — it’s literally a pile. You’d need a rake”– a representative said. Morant is one of the highest-paid athletes in the league at the moment and re-signed with the Grizzlies last year in a 5-year extension deal that could be worth up to $231 million.

A concerning occurrence for Ja Morant

After his first visit, Morant was back following his team’s 113-97 loss against the Nuggets. It was during his second visit when Morant flashed a gun while at the strip club on his, Instagram live. This has landed him in serious trouble with the NBA. While he is suspended for two games right now, Morant is under further investigation. If it is confirmed that Morant was carrying firearms inside team premises he could be looking at a season-ending suspension.

David Stern commented, “A firearm on team premises is indeed a violation of NBA rules and subjects the player to discipline … but there is NO specific suspension length in league bylaws. Suspension length is imposed at the commissioner’s discretion.”

Following the incident, Morant added, “I’m sorry to my family, teammates, coaches, fans, partners, the city of Memphis and the entire Grizzlies’ organization for letting you down,” Morant said in a statement following the fallout of the IG Live video. “I’m going to take some time away to get help and work on learning better methods of dealing with stress and my overall well-being.”
