“I Don’t See Nothing Wrong With That” – Serena Williams’ Father Makes a Ridiculous Statement in Defense of Will Smith For Slapping Chris Rock
The comedian Chris Rock is sick of discussing the notorious Oscars smack from Will Smith, but he wants to be clear that it hurt. During a live Netflix comedy show, Rock spoke extensively about the 2022 Academy Awards episode. Since Mr. Smith was permitted to attend the event and later received his first-ever Oscar for Best Actor, the altercation served as a cultural flashpoint for discussions about America’s appetite for casual violence. Rock was commended for keeping his cool in the wake of the event.
Now that Will Smith has entered the stage during the 2022 Oscars and slapped Chris Rock, Serena and Venus Williams’ father, Richard Williams, thinks it’s time for everyone to move past the incident.
Serena Williams’ dad defends Will Smith over Chris Rock
“I think he has done the best thing he needed to do, but I would never be disgusted with Mr. Smith. Matter of fact, I appreciate Mr. Smith,” Williams said. “I don’t see nothing wrong with that.”
Williams’ assertion that it’s time to move past Smith striking another man during an awards show and forget about it is one thing, but his insistence that there is no wrong with what he did is blatantly preposterous. Will Smith reacted violently to Chris Rock’s joke about his wife during an awards program that was being aired around the world.

When Rock eventually addressed the incident, social media erupted with comments, many of which noted how comedians like Rock frequently chuckle through their suffering. Others thought the comic went too far when he made jokes about supporting the slave masters in Will Smith’s most recent movie, Emancipation.
