Chiefs’ Kelce To Join Small List Of Athletes Who Have Hosted Saturday Night Live (SNL)
Travis Kelce, a tight end with the Kansas City Chiefs, will join a select group. Athletes or prominent figures in sports have made up less than 40 of those hosts for SNL.
The Kansas City Chiefs’ first active player to host the programme will be Kelce. When Joe Montana played quarterback for the San Francisco 49ers, he also served as a co-host.

Fran Tarkenton, who was playing for the Minnesota Vikings at the time, became the first athlete to ever host “Saturday Night Live” SNL on January 29, 1977.

Leo Sayer and Donny Harper performed as musical guests during the second season of the programme, which Tarkenton hosted. Only ten days after his team’s Super Bowl XI defeat to the Oakland Raiders, the renowned quarterback made an appearance on the programme.

According to the stats, being the host of NBC’s “Saturday Night Live” is a privilege. Since 1977, when Vikings quarterback Fran Tarkenton hosted the 13th episode of season two, only 33 people have held the distinction.

Despite the fact that the SNL has continued to run for 46 years, competitors have had trouble entering the arena. The only others since 2010 are Eli Manning, Ronda Rousey, and John Cena; J.J. Watt being the most recent.
