Johnny Damon Makes Appearance For Savannah Bananas
Whatever you want to call him, it is a lot of fun to watch 49-year-old Johnny Damon go up to the plate for the Savannah Bananas. That is not at all comparable to Julio Franco diving in for the Braves at 49.

In order to fill the left batter’s box for the Bananas’ game in Daytona, Florida, they turned to 18-year-old MLB star, two-time All-Star, and two-time World Series champion Damon.
For his part, Damon danced his way up and really leaned into the bit. He was part of the 2004 Red Sox – ‘the idiots!’ – and immediately rose to stardom. He was a good player before that season, but then he came to camp with long hair out of NOWHERE and turned into a star.

He appeared to be pleased to be there. But, the outcomes were those of a person who hadn’t batted in a while.
After playing for the Royals, Athletics, Red Sox, Tigers, Rays, and Guardians before retiring in 2012, Damon swung forcefully at the first pitch before chopping a ball to third and getting out.

For those who don’t know, the Bananas are an eccentric baseball team that resembles the Harlem Globetrotters. The Bananas, a team that was founded in 2016, have a long history of viral videos and are renowned for their antics on the field.
One of the more subdued things they’ve done was to bring Damon out; considering that he lives an hour away in Windermere, it’s possible that he was already there.

Although Damon didn’t provide his finest performances, his visit was nevertheless enjoyable. For the Bananas, it was the name of the game, and Damon lived up to the moniker.
