Lamar Jackson Team Odds 2023: Where Could the NFL Star Land Next?

After Lamar Jackson’s great quarterback career in the 2022 NFL was marred by injuries, his future with the Baltimore Ravens appears to be in doubt.

Jackson only participated in 12 games because of a knee ailment he had late in the season. In addition to the Ravens’ AFC Wild Card playoff loss to the rival Cincinnati Bengals, he missed the final five regular-season games. Baltimore struggled during that time without Jackson, going 2-4 (including the playoffs).

This previous season, the league’s 2018 MVP exercised his fifth-year option. Although his camp and the Ravens have been unable to agree on a long-term extension, he is eligible for a new contract.

Lamar Jackson Team Odds 2023: Where Could the NFL Star Land Next?

(If he returns to Baltimore, all bets are void)

New York Jets (+300)
Atlanta Falcons (+400)
New England Patriots (+600)
Las Vegas Raiders (+700)
Carolina Panthers (+700)
Indianapolis Colts (+800)
Seattle Seahawks (+800)
Washington Commanders (+1200)
Tennessee Titans (+1200)
New Orleans Saints (+1200)
Houston Texans (+1200)

If the Jets had a quarterback of Jackson’s calibre in 2022, they might have won 10–12 games. New York features a great defence, a powerful running back corps, and some quality receivers. One may argue that the Jets need a significant quarterback upgrade to be a genuine AFC contender. The Jets won’t follow Mike White, Zach Wilson, or Joe Flacco to the promised land.

The Falcons sure have the money to do it. The Falcons have $56.8 million in cap room to sign Jackson after trying and failing to sign Deshaun Watson last season. Atlanta may have enough future assets, such as a top-ten pick this year and an abundance of future picks, to pique the interest of the Ravens as well. Jackson is probably intrigued by their promising young roster, but the Falcons’ decision-makers might decide to stay away for that reason. Atlanta has invested years accumulating young talent and increasing draught capital. Do they want to give up all of their future assets and capital for Lamar? For Watson, they undoubtedly appeared willing to do so. Desmond Ridder had a promising 2-2 stretch during the final four regular-season games for the Falcons, but Atlanta shouldn’t be discouraged from signing a Jackson-caliber quarterback because of his potential.

Another intriguing team to keep an eye on in the offseason is the Las Vegas Raiders. If Derek Carr is traded, the Raiders will need a new starting quarterback. If Tom Brady decides to play football in 2023 and departs the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Las Vegas has been mentioned as a prospective destination.

This set of odds includes the New England Patriots, which is a fascinating addition. Year 2 saw a decline for starting quarterback Mac Jones, but a new offensive coordinator might be enough to turn things around. Jones performed admirably as a rookie in 2021, contributing to the Patriots’ 10-7 record and playoff appearance.
