A basketball magazine from the Bahamas called The All Bahamian Brand originally profiled Hield when he was still in high school. The All Bahamian Brand named Hield as the top eighth-grader in the Bahamas and one to watch while he was just a young student. The National Association of Christian Athletes national title was won by Hield’s Sunrise Christian team in 2011, and he was honored as the competition’s MVP.
