Jaguars’ QB Trevor Lawrence Celebrates Epic Comeback At Waffle House

The emotional rollercoaster that Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence experienced on Saturday is nearly impossible to describe. The 23-year-old likely felt a wide variety of emotions in his first postseason start, from a historically bad first half to leading Jacksonville to the third-largest comeback win in NFL playoff history.

Thus, the question of what Lawrence does after such a wild evening arises. Thankfully, he appeared to respond to supporters by saying, “Go to Waffle House.”

Jaguars’ QB Trevor Lawrence Celebrates Epic Comeback At Waffle House

After leading the Jacksonville Jaguars to a 31-30 victory over the Los Angeles Chargers on Saturday night, quarterback Trevor Lawrence did the logical thing and went to Waffle House.

When Lawrence and a few Jaguars teammates entered the restaurant, they were greeted with applause. In the playoffs, he led Jacksonville to its first victory since the 2017 campaign.

Following the triumph, he also sent out a flawless tweet that featured a parody of a high school football player who gained notoriety in the previous year for his analysis of his own team’s comeback victory.

After falling behind by as many as 27 points in the second half, Lawrence led Jacksonville’s comeback with 288 passing yards, four touchdown passes, and four interceptions. In the second half, Lawrence threw three of his four touchdown passes, including one of nine yards to Christian Kirk. Riley Patterson made the game-winning field goal from 36 yards out.

“You couldn’t write a better script to win a game like that tonight, so it makes it more special, but don’t want to do that again,” Lawrence said, via ESPN. “Got to take care of the ball. That’s where it starts.”

Lawrence added: “We said in the locker room that’s kind of how our season’s going. We’re never out of the fight…. I’m kind of speechless, honestly, just to see what belief can do and to see when a team believes in each other what you can accomplish.

Having survived wild-card weekend, the Jaguars will await the results of Sunday’s slate to see who they’ll take on in next weekend’s AFC divisional round.
