Fans were outraged by a specific play during the Steelers’ victory against the Browns. Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson was sacked by Pittsburgh defender Alex Highsmith with roughly 39 seconds left in the contest.

In their game against the Cleveland Browns, Pittsburgh Steelers players celebrated the “disrespectful” play when Alex Highsmith successfully sacked his opponent as he attempted to pass.

Highsmith’s teammate approached him as he was lying on the ground and began to imitate pounding his chest in excitement of the play that stopped the Browns’ offensive drive.

The celebration takes place less than a week after Bills safety Damar Hamlin passed out while facing the Bengals on the field. The safety was given CPR which saved his life after going into cardiac arrest.

Social media users started sharing their opinions right away after the party. Following the Hamlin incident, one football fan made fun of Pittsburgh by calling the behaviour “very classy.”

Did a Steelers player really perform CPR during a big play celebration, wondered radio host Isaac Wenzel after what he had just witnessed.

The presenter of “The Gunz Show,” Mike Gunz, said, “Of all weeks… not a great look. Yikes.” Highsmith “clearly didn’t have any bad intentions towards Hamlin,” he continued later. Just stating that it occurred and the timing wasn’t ideal.

On Saturday, Hamlin made his first social media post ahead of the 12-3 Bills 12-3 victory over New England Patriots.

Hamlin posted a picture of himself in his Cincinnati hospital bed wearing a t-shirt supporting his road to recovery. He wrote: “GAMETIME!!! @BuffaloBills” – along with a blue heart.

Fans were quick to slam the Steelers’ mock CPR celebration which came less than a week after Hamlin almost lost his life on the pitch-
