Tennessee Titans, on the 6th of December, fired their General Manager back when the team was still 7-5 and looked headed for a third consecutive AFC South crown. Since the firing things have gone awry for the Titans who finished 7-10, its first losing season since going 3-13 back in 2015.
Billionaire Owner makes a statement of intent after Tennessee Titans fire their GM
In a recent interview, Tennessee Titan’s owner, Amy Adams Strunk, shared her thoughts on why she decided to fire her General Manager and what might be next for the team. She said, “We’ve been working on it for at least four weeks now. I’d like to have a G.M. as soon as possible, but we’re not going to rush the process just to get someone in as quickly as possible. The way we have it planned right now is we have two rounds, and we’re going to see where these interviews take us.”

Strunk also shared that a wide variety of candidates, both within the organization and outside the organization, are being considered for the role. Within the Titans outfit, Ryan Cowden, the current VP of player personnel, and Monti Ossenfort, the current director of player personnel, are two names that are currently the front runners for promotion from within.

She also added, “The G.M. and the head coach are going to report to me, but as an organization, we expect a culture of working together. I think collaboration amongst all of us is going to be important to take that next step in the goal of winning a championship.” Given how suddenly the decision was taken, it will be interesting to see who eventually ends up replacing Jon Robinson.
