Former Jets RB Le’Veon Bell Threw Shade At Former Coach Adam Gase

Regardless of their level of football knowledge, every New York Jets fan who followed the team from 2019 to 2020 could clearly tell that Adam Gase was directing a boring offence. Le’Veon Bell, a former Jets running back, has just verified what everyone else already knew.

Bell revealed the stunning blandness of Gase’s Jets playbook through a tweet in response to a critical fan.

Former Jets RB Le’Veon Bell Threw Shade At Former Coach Adam Gase

I can declare with 1000000% certainty that Adam Gase was one of the worst coaches I’ve ever had to see because I am OutKick’s resident – and miserable – Dolphins fan.

And I had to endure both Joe Philbin and Cam Cameron!

You know when I first realised he was a nasty guy? When he returned to Miami in his debut season with the Jets and was humiliated by a Dolphins club that went 0-7. Later that year, Ryan Tannehill, his former Dolphins quarterback, came close to leading the Titans to the Super Bowl.

“I was a better player,” Bell said in response to one fan’s tweet saying he wasn’t the same player after his year off in 2018. “It’s just hard to get off when Adam Gase is your coach calling dives on 1st & 10 … he had dives in his first 10 plays.”

Le’Veon Bell accurately describes Gase’s love of foolish running back dives right up the gut that result in nothing. That was the beginning of every Dolphins drive, followed by a short pass on second and long and a sack on third down.

Repeat washing and rinsing. never fell short.

By the way, Bell’s response to that message was a part of a wider conversation that Reggie Bush sparked on Twitter when he stated that NFL players should have guaranteed contracts in the wake of the Damar Hamlin incident.

If you recall, Bell famously refused to sign a new contract for the whole 2018 season in order to get one. He finally did so in 2019 with the Jets.

Le’Veon unfortunately spent his prime years in the league running dives straight up the stomach because the Jets also signed Adam Gase that same year.

Le’Veon Bell last played for the Buccaneers in the 2021-22 playoffs. While he is yet to officially retire from the NFL, Bell sat out of football in 2022 to pursue a boxing career.
