Covington joined the Houston Rockets for the 2013 NBA Summer League after going undrafted in the 2013 NBA draft. He played for the Philadelphia 76ers, Minnesota Timberwolves, and Portland Trail Blazers before signing a contract with the Los Angeles Clippers.
