WATCH: Ex-Patriots LB Willie McGinest brutally assaults man at LA nightclub

Former New England Patriots linebacker Wilie McGinest was arrested on a felony charge of assault with a deadly weapon in Los Angeles on Monday. Video evidence showed that the three-time Super Bowl winner brutally assaulted a man Delilah, which is a popular spot for LA’s ‘elite’ to enjoy a night out.

McGinest appeared to enter the venue with a group of men, who naturally appear to be his buddies. He then exchanged some words with a man who was waiting at a table. Out of almost nowhere, the NFL great then began swinging punches at him before all chaos broke loose. You can watch the video clip of the incident below:

The man who was being attacked quickly attempts to throw a few punches back in self-defense. However, he is quickly swarmed by McGinest’s friends who were with him. The man in the clip takes several nasty blows and at one point, seems to get hit over the head by McGinest with a glass bottle as well.

Is Willie McGinest still in jail?

McGinest was arrested by the LAPD after the incident. He was later released on a $30,000 bond. However, there is still no update as to why the former NFL star attacked the man in the restaurant.

More so, McGinest currently works as an analyst with the NFL Network. The organization released a statement confirming that he will not return to the crew after an investigation into the matter is complete.

McGinest played 15 seasons in the NFL and won three Super Bowls with New England during his stint with the team from  1994-2005. He also earned two Pro Bowl honors before finishing his career with the Cleveland Browns.
