At the 2015 FIBA Americas Under-16 Championship in Argentina, Jones represented the United States and took home the gold medal. Jones received the ACC Player and Defensive Player of the Year awards. The San Antonio Spurs selected Jones as the overall 41st choice in the 2020 NBA draft, which took place on November 18, 2020. Jones signed a contract with the Spurs on November 27. Jones was assigned to the G League for the first time on February 1, 2021.
