After Being Fined $ 25K, Miami Heat Lists Its Entire Active Roster On The Injury Report

After receiving a fine for breaking the league’s injury reporting guidelines, the Miami Heat seem to be taunting the NBA.

Miami was penalised $25,000 by the NBA on Friday for incorrectly reporting player availability for the match against the Oklahoma City Thunder on Wednesday.

The Heat “failed to declare an accurate game availability status for many players ahead to its game against Oklahoma City on Dec. 14 at Paycom Center,” according to a news release from the league issued on Friday.

Jimmy Butler, Gabe Vincent, Jamal Cain, Omer Yurtseven, and Nikola Jovic were all listed as out in the injury report that was released prior to the Thunder game on Wednesday. Dewayne Dedmon, Tyler Herro, Max Strus, Duncan Robinson, and Victor Oladipo, on the other hand, had previously been labelled as either questionable or probable, and all five participated in the contest.

Miami violated NBA regulations by failing to change those players’ availability statuses prior to Wednesday’s game.

On the evening injury report on Friday, Miami Heat listed every player under contract for the 14 regular roster positions as well as the two two-way spots. The only players listed as out are Cain (G League assignment), Vincent (left knee effusion), and Yurtseven (left ankle surgery).

Given how many of their players have been injured this season, it’s a hilarious method for the Miami Heat to escape receiving another sanction. With players like Bam Adebayo, Jimmy Butler, Victor Oladipo, Tyler Herro, and others losing time this season, Miami has been among the league’s most injured teams.

Due to injuries, the Heat’s 2022–23 season has been difficult; after 30 games, the team’s record is 15–15. It will take the Miami Heat a little bit of a run to surpass their 29-game win-loss total from last season.

Miami Heat is looking to get back to the No. 1 seed in the Eastern Conference this season, but it faces an uphill battle with the Boston Celtics and Milwaukee Bucks getting off to fast starts.

The Heat and Spurs are scheduled to tip off at 5 p.m. EST on Saturday from Mexico City.
