Ronaldo’s Partner, Georgina Rodriguez, Slams Portugal Coach For His Decision Making In The Game Against Morocco

Georgina Rodriguez, the girlfriend of Cristiano Ronaldo, criticized Fernando Santos when Portugal was booted out of the 2022 FIFA World Cup. On Saturday, December 10, Morocco overcame Ronaldo and company 1-0 in the tournament’s semifinal.

The game’s lone goal was scored by Youssef En-Nesyri in the 42nd minute with a powerful header.

For the second time in a row, Santos decided not to include Ronaldo in his starting lineup. With Goncalo Ramos scored a hat-trick against Switzerland in the round of 16, the plan was successful.

The rising star for Benfica spearheaded the assault on the Atlas Lions. He could not, however, have much of an effect.

Eventually, Ronaldo entered the game in the 51st minute. He only attempted one shot on goal, and Yassine Bonou made a strong stop.

The Atlas Lions maintained their advantage, ensuring Portugal’s exit from the competition. Ronaldo walked off the pitch in tears. Most likely, this was the renowned striker’s final appearance on a FIFA World Cup stage.

Georgina Rodriguez, Cristiano Ronaldo’s partner, took to her Instagram to post a message (via Express):

“Today, your friend and coach made the wrong decision. That friend for whom you have so many words of admiration and respect. The same one who, when putting you on the field, saw how everything changed, but it was too late. You can’t underestimate the best player of the world, its most powerful weapon. Much less should one stand up for those who don’t deserve it. Life gives us lessons. Today we don’t lose, we learn. We admire you.”

Despite Ronaldo’s return to the field in the second half of Saturday’s game against Morocco, the forward failed to have a significant influence. Cameras followed an emotional Ronaldo into the tunnel as the game drew to an end and the former Manchester United star battled back tears.

Ronaldo is expected to retire after the 2022 World Cup because he will be 41 years old by then.
