Kevin Durant clears ‘not caring’ joke about Aaron Judge signing with New York Yankees

Kevin Durant and MLB superstar Aaron Judge are two of the most popular sports figures that play in New York. Most recently, Judge has made headlines for signing an extension with the New York Yankees. However, when the NBA star was asked his thoughts on Judge staying in New York, Durant had a rather blunt response.

What did Kevin Durant say about Aaron Judge?

Durant sheepishly claimed that he didn’t care about Judge staying in New York with a deadpan look on his face. The Brooklyn Nets star said, “I’m a Nationals fan. I really don’t care about Aaron Judge at all,”

While Durant grew up in Washington DC, it’s fair that he supports his home team in the MLB. But to make some rash comments about a top professional left a few fans stunned. More so, because Durant also plays for a team in New York.

Some fans were quick to criticize Durant for his response while other media outlets also took Durant’s comments seriously. However, the two-time NBA champion figured out that his comments made waves on Twitter and he labeled it plane banter.

“Damn this came out colder than I intended..it’s all jokes..welcome back to the city 99..,” the Nets star tweeted.

Durant and his Nets are currently fourth in the Eastern Conference standings with 14 wins and 12 defeats so far this season. They will face the Atlanta Hawks in their next regular season matchup on Friday. Durant is averaging an incredible 29.8 points, 6.7 rebounds, and 5.5 assists per game this campaign.
