Tom Brady Did His Best to Persuade Free Agent Aaron Judge

Aaron Judge spoke briefly with Tom Brady while watching the Tampa Bay Buccaneers play the New Orleans Saints on Monday night at Raymond James Stadium.

Tom Brady and Judge were seen conversing in the tunnel in photographs. To show his support for the wide receiver who stood by him when he shattered Roger Maris’ American League home run record during the regular season, the free-agency slugger wore a Mike Evans jersey.

Aaron Judge had the night off, so he could watch a game in Florida while his agents negotiated the best possible deal with potential teams interested in signing him as their top prize for the 2023 season. In an earlier report on Judge, it was said that the slugging outfielder may have already signed a nine-year contract worth more than $300 million.

Aaron Judge is still up for grabs, and Tom Brady didn’t miss his chance when the AL MVP and free agent visited the Buccaneers’ home game against the Saints on Monday night.

Prior to the game, the two superstars traded insults, and Brady enjoyed himself on Twitter as he normally does.

“Gave him my best pitch!” said Brady. “Thanks for coming out @thejudge44.”

It’s likely that Brady was arguing for the Rays, but it’s not clear if he may have also been recruiting for the Yankees. The Dodgers and the Giants, the team Judge grew up supporting in Northern California, are the only other teams in the running for Judge, who is expected to fetch a deal worth more than $300 million.

Aaron Judge was at the game wearing a Mike Evans jersey, perhaps paying back the Tampa Bay wide receiver for his assistance during his legendary 2022 season. The day after Judge broke the AL home run record, on October 9, Evans wore Judge’s jersey during a Bucs victory.

In any case, Judge is still considering his options, and it’s unclear whether Brady played a role in his choice.
