What’s The Effect Of Odell Beckham Jr’s Flight Incident On Cowboys? Jerry Jones Answers!

Jerry Jones is not worried about any character concerns with Odell Beckham Jr. after the receiver was removed from a flight in Miami on Sunday.

The Cowboys owner denied any suggestion that the incident affected his interest in the free-agent receiver when he made an appearance on Dallas radio station KRLD-FM on Tuesday.

What’s The Effect Of Odell Beckham Jr’s Flight Incident On Cowboys? Jerry Jones Answers!

“No, it did not,” Jones said. “His overall team compatibility – his judgment, his behaviour – is not an issue with him. It is with many, but not with him.”

Jones’s response is consistent with his long-standing desire to sign Odell Beckham to a contract with the Cowboys before the season’s crucial stretch. The Cowboys (8-3) are projected to be the top overall wild card in the NFC playoffs as they are currently ranked second in the NFC East behind the Eagles.

Depending on who is telling the story, different people have different versions of how Odell Beckham was taken off the plane, but it’s important to note that the receiver wasn’t held or jailed in Miami. He was merely ejected from the aircraft.

According to a Miami-Dade Police Department statement, the flight crew was concerned for Beckham’s health because he had been “in and out of consciousness” before takeoff and couldn’t be roused to fasten his seatbelt. According to reports, Beckham was asked to get off the plane by the responding police and fire rescue teams. Beckham reportedly refused, forcing every passenger to disembark.

Later, he was taken to another area of the airport, where he made fresh travel arrangements.

According to Odell Beckham’s attorney, the receiver merely dozed off on a long journey while keeping a blanket over his head. An “overzealous” flight attendant allegedly woke him up and informed him that the jet had already returned to the gate before allowing him to fasten his seatbelt.

Despite the course of events, Beckham doesn’t seem to have lost interest in the teams vying for his services, particularly the Cowboys and Giants. Jones did in fact state that Beckham should join the team as soon as feasible.

“Well, this year is a must. We have to have this year,” Jones said. “It’s very important. The things we do are to have him impact this year, so this year has to be a big part of it.

“This year, of course, we have the playoffs and six regular-season games; in my mind, the entire show is still in front of us. Now, we need to put him in a position where he can contribute significantly.
