American professional basketball player John Konchar plays for the NBA’s Memphis Grizzlies. He represented the Purdue Fort Wayne Mastodons in college basketball. For West Chicago High School in West Chicago, Illinois, Konchar participated in basketball. He was named the All-Area MVP for his senior year. He received only one NCAA Division I scholarship offer, from Chicago State, despite his high school accomplishments.

He received a basketball scholarship from Indiana University-Purdue University Fort Wayne (IPFW), which at the time was a joint school of the Indiana University (IU) and Purdue University systems, thanks to a Notre Dame assistant coach. Konchar signed a two-way contract with the Memphis Grizzlies after going undrafted in the 2019 NBA draught. On November 9, 2019, against the Dallas Mavericks, Konchar made his NBA debut.
