“Do I Agree With It? No”: Chicago Bulls star Zach LaVine Discusses Billy Donovan’s Major Decision in Loss to Magic

Despite squandering a 19-point lead on Friday night, the Magic defeated the Chicago Bulls 108-107 because of a clutch 3-pointer by Suggs in the last seconds. Zach LaVine just managed four points on 1-for-14 shooting throughout the game. The final 3:43 were missed by the two-time All-Star. The best choices for the squad, in the coaches’ opinion, are made. They only serve to try to win the game when they happen in the middle of it.

Billy Donovan wasn’t considering the long-term effects when he decided to sit Zach LaVine for the last three minutes and forty-three seconds of the Chicago Bulls’ fourth straight defeat on Friday night. Zach LaVine addressed the media following the defeat to talk about both his play and Donovan’s decision to bench him.

Zach LaVine speaks up on being substituted by Billy Donovan

The highest status symbol in the league, a five-year, $215 million contract, is being signed by Zach LaVine. Zach LaVine believes that despite his terrible performance, he should have been let to continue playing, considering how frequently we have seen him produce under pressure.

Here’s what Zach said: “I mean that’s Billy’s decision you gotta lay with it. Do I agree with it? No. I think I can go out there and still be me even if I miss some shots. But that’s his decision and you know he has to stand on it. … You play a guy like me down the stretch. That’s what I do. Do I like the decision? No.”

That’s because Zach LaVine, who became the sixth Bull in team history to shoot 1-for-14 or worse and the first since Toni Kukoc in 1999, was replaced by Ayo Dosunmu, who was sent to the scorer’s table by Donovan.

It is significant to note that Zach LaVine has endured ongoing knee issues. His situation was a little hazy going into the season. He appeared well enough to participate, but he had to sit out a few games in the beginning.
