“Losing Becomes a Habit If You Don’t Fix It”: Stephen Curry Kept ‘It Real’ as He Gives a Brutal Reality Check to the Warriors

In the last seconds of the third quarter, Stephen Curry of Golden State valiantly attempted to keep up with Devin Booker by placing a hand in his face. However, Booker stepped back for a 3-pointer. Curry hung his head in defeat as Booker hit the shot. No matter how many points the superstar for the Warriors scored, the Suns always had a response. The 2022–23 season for the Golden State Warriors is not off to a strong start.

The reigning champions have struggled to piece victories together, and dismal performances have been recurring. Through their first 15 games of the season, Stephen Curry’s exceptional talent alone hasn’t been enough to save them. While Steph Curry isn’t quite ready to declare the Warriors’ season over just yet, he did warn that poor habits can be hard to overcome.

Stephen Curry opens up on the Warriors’ dismal form this season

Stephen Curry stated that the Warriors aren’t panicked right now but that the loss is becoming old and something they have to stop doing after the Warriors dropped by 50 points yet still fell to the Phoenix Suns.

“It’s a struggle right now, just keeping it real,” Curry said. “We have to understand that it’s going to be really hard to dig yourself out of the situation that we’re in because there are a lot of issues. But, it’s not anything we can’t overcome…Losing becomes a habit if you don’t fix it.”

On Wednesday, Phoenix comfortably overcame Curry’s 50-point performance to defeat struggling Golden State 130-119 thanks to a career-high 29 points from Cameron Payne and 27 points from Booker. The Warriors have a 6-9 record and have dropped their last eight away games. Overall, the squad lacks the energy it typically has.

Klay Thompson and James Wiseman have been disappointed to start the season. Despite Stephen Curry’s points, the Suns dominated most of the game. The eight-time All-Star connected on 17 of 28 attempts, including 7 of 11 from long distances. The Warriors’ issue was that no one else was providing assistance.

Klay Thompson scored 19 points overall but only made 6 of his 17 shots. The Warriors, the current NBA champions, dropped to 6-9 overall, including 0-8 on the road.
