Philadelphia Eagles Set a New Franchise Record After a 8-0 Start to the Season

Going into the 2022 season, many believed that it would be a two-way fight between the Buffalo Bills and the Kansas City Chiefs for the Super Bowl as the two favorites. However, just a few games into the season fans and pundits alike realized that Philadelphia Eagles could spoil the party after a perfect start to the season, which has now extended to 8-0 with a win over the Houston Texans.

Although the quality of opponents that the Eagles have faced has not been very high, they have still done an extremely good job of not faltering even once and putting on some extremely dominant performances. Their most recent win over the Houston Texans broke the franchise record for the best start to an NFL season.

The Eagles weren’t overwhelming in gaining 360 yards to the Texans’ 303, but Javon Hargrave sacked Mills three times and James Bradberry and C.J. Gardner-Johnson each had an interception of Mills.

Jalen Hurts, who grew up in the Houston area, returned home to complete 21 of 27 passes for 243 yards and two touchdowns. He also had 23 yards on nine carries but was sacked four times, including twice by Jerry Hughes, and lost a fumble. It was the Eagles’ first lost fumble of the season.

Can the Philadelphia Eagles and Jalen Hurts remain undefeated in 2022?

The Eagles are done with eight games in their 2022 season and have nine games remaining. The common consensus is that the Eagles will not be able to end their season undefeated, as they have the likes of the Dallas Cowboys and the New York Giants coming up.

The Eagles face the Giants in game week 13 and again in game week 17, and they face the Cowboys on game week 15. Most fans and pundits alike believe that the Eagles will a few if not all three of these games, giving them a record of 14-3 at the end of the season.

It will be interesting to see how the Eagles fare against teams that will be much better than the ones they have faced so far in the 2022 season. If they can win all three, they will have a very strong chance of winning the Super Bowl this year.
