Is Ben Simmons’ Time With The Nets Coming To An End? Trade Rumors Buzzing In The NBA World

After a 2-5 start to the season, Brooklyn’s coach Steve Nash was dismissed, and the team responded to the unexpected news by giving up a game late to the Bulls, losing 108-99 after being outscored 31-19 in the fourth quarter. It will take time to see if the team’s new coach can get the great roster—which includes three-star players in Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving, and Ben Simmons—back on track, but general manager Sean Marks hinted that a change might also be made there as well.

Trade Rumors Of Ben Simmons Being Traded Are Buzzing In The NBA World

The 2022–23 NBA season for the Nets has only had eight games played, yet by any measure, the first ten per cent of the year has been a dismal failure. There are some obvious roster gaps, despite the optimism that hiring a new coach will help the team turn things around. And based on reports, trading Simmons might close such gaps.

Brooklyn lacks size, as experts and NBA veterans have noted during the course of the current season. Particularly in the middle, where players like Giannis Antetokounmpo and Joel Embiid will force Kevin Durant and Nic Claxton to guard them.

The Nets may seek a midseason deal to improve their frontcourt, which is weaker than many Eastern Conference contenders. Early in the season, it was thought that either Seth Curry or Joe Harris would end up on the trade market. This attention has switched to Ben Simmons after two weeks of the season.

According to sources speaking to Ian Begley of SNY, the Brooklyn Nets held “cursory” trade discussions with a Western Conference team last week to get back an experienced shooter.

Ben Simmons’ availability was discussed, according to Begley.

Sean Marks acknowledges that the roster has gaps, but the organization is actively pursuing perimeter shooting.

“I’ll be the first to admit there are definitely holes” (in our roster). Marks stated on Tuesday that we are not a finished product.”

On the year, Ben Simmons has averaged 6.2 points, 7.3 assists, and 6.5 rebounds.
