WATCH: Warriors’ Klay Thompson Gets Ejected For the First Time In His Career After Fiery Exchange With Devin Booker

Tuesday night’s NBA All-Star game pits the Golden State Warriors against the Phoenix Suns. Things became a touch heated midway through the third quarter in a physically intense contest. The Warriors were down 83-77 with a little over six minutes left, when Draymond Green was called for a foul on Cameron Johnson. When things became heated, Devin Booker of the Suns and Warriors guard Klay Thompson got into a fight. Double technicals would be given to both players.

Klay Thompson ejected after getting into it against the Suns

You could tell that tensions were high in a crucial Western Conference clash between two championship contenders in the middle of nowhere. These are undoubtedly the two greatest teams in the conference, with the Warriors being the reigning champions and the Suns being a squad that has been a basketball powerhouse for two years but lost in the Finals and then lost a Game 7 last year.

Many would argue that this was a contest we ought to have had in the WCF. Thompson didn’t back down, though. The Warriors star was sent to the showers early after a second technical was given as a result. Thompson was still yelling at the Suns’ bench, according to ESPN NBA reporter Kendra Andrews, as he made his way to the locker room.

It was really fascinating to see that side of Klay Thompson. Not everyone in the quarter was upset, even Klay. Just a few minutes earlier, a missed call on a Green jumper attempt resulted in techs for both Draymond Green and Steve Kerr. Unfortunately, despite the heat, the Warriors didn’t seem to be energized, as the Suns went on a tremendous run right after Klay was sent out.
