“Had Two Personalities”: 2X NBA MVP Showers Massive Praise on Kobe Bryant and Having ‘Similar Mindset’ as Him

Giannis Antetokounmpo, a standout for the Bucks, has already cemented his place in sports history after just nine years in the NBA. When Giannis Antetokounmpo trained with Kobe Bryant on the path to winning the NBA MVP award twice, he picked up a lot of knowledge from the Black Mamba.

The Greek youngster had to put in a lot of effort to get to this position, and Kobe encouraged him to develop and up his game. Kobe Bryant witnessed Giannis’ dedication to the game directly when the 26-year-old began taking notes before and after working out with the legendary Los Angeles Lakers player. Giannis has unquestionably elevated himself to the top tier of all-time great athletes.

And although his success may be attributed to his stature, skill set, and natural feel for the game, it is truly his mindset and way of playing the game that has allowed him to perform at such a high level.

Giannis Antetokounmpo says he and Kobe Bryant had a similar mindset

The Milwaukee star compared himself to Kobe Bryant in a recent interview when discussing his approach to the game of basketball and his work ethic.

“I might not be as talented as him, but when we’re talking about a guy that worked extremely hard from his first day until he retired. A guy that plays to win, a guy that pushes himself to the limit, a guy that has a killer mentality when he steps on the court,” Antetokounmpo said.

“It’s almost like having — I think he had two personalities. Like when we were on the sideline and we were talking and I was taking notes, laughing smiling, joking around, talking. But when we stepped on the court, It was like motherf—er didn’t even know me. ‘I thought you were like my friend.’”

Giannis truly has nothing more to show at this point. The man has won the best award a player can receive and there is nothing he cannot achieve on a basketball floor. Since his early years, he has come a long way and is now at the top of the globe. Giannis must be relieved that things turned out this way because it has been a long trip. But thanks to Kobe Bryant and his mentality that helped Giannis reach his peak.

This player, who is only beginning his peak, is a true gem for the Milwaukee Bucks. The remaining teams in the association need to be terrified by that notion.
