Raiders WR Davante Adams Under Scrutiny Unlikely To Be Suspended

Raiders WR Davante Adams shoved a credentialed media person on the field on Monday night in Kansas City, and he is currently awaiting a sanction from the NFL. This is the second time in October that an All-Pro player has had to deal with the ramifications of doing so.

Davante Adams was charged on Wednesday by Kansas City police with a misdemeanor assault. Adams apologized to the player he shoved after the game while standing in front of the reporters at his locker

Davante Adams Chances Of getting Suspended Or Fined?

Adams might face a sizable fine or a game suspension, according to several NFL sources. The situation is currently being looked into. However, a league source brought up the concern that the NFL shouldn’t want its players to have to deal with the fallout from on-field actions toward people who aren’t opponents, despite the fact that the circumstances are significantly different.

One league source stated, “They don’t want players getting sued who are on the field, otherwise they’ll kick everyone out.” The NFL Players Association cannot allow its members to be sued in that manner.

It’s unknown if Davante Adams will face legal action. However, the argument that these are circumstances the league shouldn’t want its players in is still valid.

Adams’ situation, however, won’t resolve itself right away, in part because of a legal event that occurred on Wednesday when he was charged with violating a local code for assault, according to a public information officer for the Kansas City (Missouri) Municipal Court.

Adams’ case is now seen as a possible breach of the league’s personal conduct policy and calls for an investigation because he was charged criminally. A resolution would occur sooner, according to people familiar with the matter, if the case is addressed in any way (legal charges are withdrawn, Adams enters a guilty plea, or any other event that terminates this scenario). Adams “did, by a purposeful, overt act, inflict bodily injury or induce an unlawful offensive contact” on the employee, the citation claims, resulting in whiplash, a headache, and a nose bleed.
