Gordon Hayward’s New Haircut Becomes The Topic Of Discussion

People are commenting about Gordon Hayward’s new hairstyle. The Hornets forward has shaved the side of his head and appears to be reinterpreting his trademark swoop in a more unkempt manner.

On September 26, the initial report date for NBA veterans, Hayward made his debut wearing the cut. NBA Twitter went bananas when Gordon Hayward, a player for the Charlotte Hornets, arrived at a press conference on Friday with a new haircut, drawing comparisons to when former NFL quarterback Tim Tebow received his rookie suspension.

The 32-year-old was fortunate to avoid the wrath of the internet for a few weeks, but on Friday when the image surfaced again, his bad luck caught up with him. Since his time at Butler, when he appeared more like a character out of Hoosiers than a future NBA All-Star, the forward has undergone a dramatic transformation.

Hayward, who has a reputation for having a coiffed haircut ever since becoming a starter in the NBA, seems to have changed course with his most recent trim. Some people immediately compared it to other stunning hairstyles, such as the well-known reverse bowl cut that Denver Broncos rookie Tim Tebow sported in 2010.

Gordon Hayward Aims To Comeback With The Hornets

Since departing the Jazz in the summer of 2017, Hayward has not achieved the level of success that many anticipated in the NBA.

Hayward helped the Jazz advance to the second round of the playoffs after being selected to his first (and only) All-Star squad and defeating the Los Angeles Clippers in the first round.

That summer, Hayward joined Kyrie Irving on the Celtics, who were thought to be a title candidate.

But in his first game with the Celtics, Hayward was dealt a horrifying ankle injury that forced him to miss the rest of the 2017–18 campaign. The forward had two more unimpressive seasons with Boston before agreeing to a four-year, $120 million contract with the Hornets.

Over the course of his first two seasons with the Hornets, Hayward played in 44 and 49 games while still dealing with ailments.

Hayward is off to a strong start in the preseason, which is good news for Charlotte. The former Jazzman is shooting 56% from the field and 50% from beyond the arc for an average of 11 points, 4.0 rebounds, and 1.5 assists.
