INJURY UPDATE: Commanders’ RB Brian Robinson Takes a Huge Step Towards Recovery, Could Take Up Major Role This Season
Football injuries are common, and many times we have witnessed sportsmen recover from terribly serious wounds to resume their careers. Making a comeback requires a lot of willpower, effort, commitment, and discipline. But it required a lot more in the instance of Brian Robinson Jr.
In his healing process, Brian Robinson keeps progressing significantly. Most people spend their whole lives working toward the ambition of playing in the NFL, but only a small percentage of them are ever successful. Robinson was unfortunate because tragedy occurred before he could run a single yard on a football field in a regular-season game.
The Washington Commanders running back participated in team drills before Sunday’s game against the Philadelphia Eagles, four weeks after being shot twice in an attempted armed robbery.
Brian Robinson makes big progress
Robinson practiced his routes at FedEx Field in advance of the Week 3 game, according to Nicki Jhabvala of the Washington Post.

Robinson had surgery the day after being shot twice in the lower torso on August 28. Thankfully, the wounds weren’t life-threatening, and he received treatment right away. He was put on the non-injury list by Washington, delaying his availability until week 5. Robinson is on pace to play football this season, though it’s unknown when he’ll be ready to return.

The former Alabama athlete was beginning to establish himself as the team’s top rushing back before the incident. Brian Robinson may play a noteworthy role for the Commanders this season. For the time being, Robinson will watch the Commanders’ Sunday afternoon game against the Eagles.
