Huge Boost for the New Orleans Saints as Two Key Players Are Marked Available for the Game vs the Buccaneers

The 2022 NFL season is upon us and the fixtures are coming in thick and fast. In the blink of an eye, we’re already at game week two. While some teams have lived up to all the expectations and hype, others have faltered. The New Orleans Saints are one of the very few teams that have started their season with a win. Next up for the Saints are the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at home. Unfortunately, the Saints might be without a couple of key players in their game against Tom Brady’s men. 

Adam Schefter of ESPN reported, “Saints’ RB Alvin Kamara, listed as questionable for Sunday due to a rib injury, is not expected to play vs. the Buccaneers, per source. Saints’ RB Mark Ingram, also listed as questionable for Sunday due to an ankle injury, is expected to play vs. the Buccaneers, per source.”

Schefter also added, “Saints’ QB Jameis Winston, listed as questionable for Sunday due to a back injury, is expected to play vs. the Buccaneers, per source.”

A closer look at the New Orleans Saints vs Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Alvin Kamara was one of the most important members of the Saints’ offense last season. Kamara had 240 carries for 898 yards and four touchdowns. He averaged 69.1 rushing yards per game and 3.7 yards per attempt. Kamara played the first game against the Falcons. Unfortunately, he will most likely not play later today. 

If Jameis Winston does not start, Andy Dalton is expected to take over the reins of the Saints’ offense. It will be a tall task for Dalton as he comes up against an extremely well-oiled team in the Buccaneers who have won both their opening games so far this season. The absence of Kamara, Ingram, and Winston means that the Saints’ offense will be toothless, to say the least. 

It will be interesting to see how their defense holds up against the likes of Brady, Fournette, and Julio Jones, among others. The New Orleans Saints faithful be hoping that all three men make a comeback as soon as possible in order to increase their chances of advancing to the postseason.
