Eurobasket 2022 Knockout: Predictions, Bracket, Schedule & More

The most recent iteration of the every four years competition to crown the European basketball champion began to play on September 1 and will end on Sunday, September 18. The semifinals have been scheduled for Berlin’s knockout round. Slovenia, the current champions, and Luka Doncic won’t be defending their titles, though. Poland eliminated Slovenia on Wednesday in the quarterfinals.

Germany eliminated Greece and Giannis Antetokounmpo on Tuesday in the quarterfinals. At EuroBasket 2022, Spain and France complete the last four teams.

Everything you need to know about the knockout stage of EuroBasket 2022-

Predictions-

Greece is well-positioned to get to the finals as long as Giannis Antetokounmpo’s knee and ankle are healthy. In the quarterfinals, Greece would play either Germany or Montenegro if it defeated the Czech Republic in the Round of 16. After that, it would face either Croatia, Spain, Lithuania, or Finland in the semifinals.
The bracket’s other half, which includes Serbia, Slovenia, and France, is significantly tougher. Prior to the competition, Serbia had the greatest odds of winning EuroBasket 2022, with Greece, France, and Slovenia tied for second.
Greece must be feeling pretty good about having to compete against Serbia, Slovenia, and France.

If it wasn’t obvious, I think Greece has a good chance of making the championship game as long as Antetokounmpo is healthy. With averages of 29.5 points, 9.0 rebounds, 3.8 assists, and 1.5 steal in 26.5 minutes per game during group play, Antetokounmpo has been nothing short of amazing so far.  He presents himself as a man on a mission.

I’m undecided between Serbia and Slovenia as Greece’s opponents. Either choice is solid, but I’m sticking with Slovenia, my pre-tournament decision. Even though Jokic and Serbia have been outstanding, it is difficult to pick against Doncic and the reigning champions.

Giannis vs. Luka is the ideal championship match in a contest that ought to be close. Despite the more challenging route, I anticipate Slovenia will emerge as European champions once more.

Update: Serbia, Greece, and Slovenia have all been eliminated from EuroBasket, which means Nikola Jokic, Giannis Antetokounmpo, and Luka Doncic won’t be playing in the championship game. Spain and France will instead compete for the gold.
