NFL Insider Provides Positive Update On Matthew Stafford and His Lingering Elbow Injury Ahead of the Season Opener Against the Buffalo Bills

We’re just a few hours away from the start of a new season and the defending champions, The Los Angeles Rams, get us underway as they welcome‌ the Buffalo Bills to kick start their championship defense. A lot of how well the Rams do this season will depend on the likes of Matthew Stafford, Aaron Donald, and Cooper Kupp, among others.

Fortunately for the Rams fans, a huge positive update on Stafford’s health has been released just a few hours away from kick-off. NFL insider Adam Schefter shared an update on Stafford saying, “Rams QB Matthew Stafford underwent an off-season elbow procedure to deal with the pain he experienced last season and to help prepare for this season, per sources. Despite the questions about his elbow, Stafford is now said to feel better today than he did at this time last year.”

Stafford sat out for the majority of the Rams’ throwing drills and NFL reports suggested that the Super Bowl winning quarterback was battling severe elbow tendonitis, however, this was never confirmed by Stafford or the Rams. The former overall first pick in the draft remained coy whenever asked about the status of his injury. Despite playing with a compromised elbow last season, Stafford managed 404 completions on 601 attempts (67.2% completion) for 4,886 yards, 41 touchdowns, and 17 interceptions, he also topped the fantasy charts as the highest-scoring QB.

A closer look at Matthew Stafford and the Rams’ opening game vs the Bills

Buffalo Bills are the favorites to win the super bowl going into this season, but many believe they are being overvalued. L.A.’s defensive line is capable of bringing pressure on the edges and up the middle, just the things that can make Josh Allen uncomfortable.

Additionally, the Rams are a much better unit offensively with the likes of Kupp and Stafford. It will be interesting to see how the opening game plays out between two of the best teams in the league, but the betting favorites, the Los Angeles Rams, look set to start their season with a win.
