Full list of Las Vegas Raiders Roster Cuts ahead of NFL 2022-23 season
The Las Vegas Raiders roster has great hopes for the upcoming 2022 season. Prior to the start of the season, some unexpected Raiders roster cutbacks were made. There are still skills on the team’s roster without a doubt. It will be fascinating to watch, though, how some of their roster cuts will impact them going ahead.
Before the 2022 season, let’s take a look at the most unexpected Raiders roster cutbacks:
Toby Phillips
The Raiders released Darius Phillips as part of their roster cuts. Phillips was anticipated to be a strong cornerback depth option. He spent the first four seasons of his career with the Bengals in Cincinnati, where he had some promise. However, in each of the previous two seasons, Phillips was only able to play in 12 games. However, a lot of individuals inside the Raiders organization believed he would contribute to the team in 2022.
On the free market, Phillips is probably going to spark interest. Teams would kill to have the 27-year-old as a reliable depth player on their squad.
Keelan Cole
Keelan Cole’s inclusion on the Raiders’ roster cuts came as a complete surprise.
With a chance to secure the third receiving slot on the squad, the wide receiver, who is 29 years old, attended training camp. Cole might have at the very least been a useful bench player. But the Raiders must have been disappointed with his preseason play since he was let go.
Cole had a difficult season with the Jets in New York last year. He did, however, haul in 55 receptions for the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2020. He totaled more than 640 yards and scored five touchdowns, a career-high.
