Is Dak Prescott a Top 5 Quarterback in the NFL Yet? Answered.
If it weren’t for his season-ending injury in 2020, Dak Prescott may have been one of the best players going into 2022. In fewer than five complete games that year, he was on pace to pass for more than 6,000 yards.
Instead, Prescott returned to nearly elite throwing form last year after two ankle operations, but he still lacked the “wow” season that supporters look for in a quarterback who routinely performs well. In order to establish himself as one of the top quarterbacks in the current game, Prescott wants to take the Cowboys back to the playoffs.
You should be pleased with Prescott no matter how you feel about the Dallas Cowboys heading into the regular season in 2022. He just had perhaps his best season as a professional at the age of 29.

Does Dak Prescott crack the top 5 QB list?
Is he one of the league’s top 5 quarterbacks? Depending on how you define “elite,” yes. Because, according to statistics, Dak is already a really great player. Only three quarterbacks have more victories since Dak entered the NFL in 2016 than Dak, who has a 53-32 record in 85 games. These three would be Russell Wilson, Aaron Rodgers, and Tom Brady.
Before his injury, Dak Prescott was one of the best QBs out there.
Post-injury, Prescott's rushing numbers took a HUGE hit. Will Dak try to get back to the rusher he was pre-injury? Or is this the new Dak?

Remember that he posted a 104.2 Quarterback Rating and tossed a career-high 37 touchdown passes. His rating is at its greatest point since his first season. His 98.7 rating ties him with Drew Brees for sixth place among quarterbacks with at least 1,500 career attempts in the all-time career QB ratings.
And while many consider Prescott to be among the best in the game at his position, not everyone agrees, especially when compared to other quarterbacks in the league.

He has improved as a quarterback after each complete offseason he has ever had. He was solidly in the MVP contention through the first seven weeks of the 2021 season. But everything hinges on his success. He might achieve considerably more if he can win games. We feel he should be among the top 5 conversations ahead of the 2022 NFL season.
