Chicago Bears Super Bowl Odds for 2022-23 NFL Season

In the first round of the 2021 NFL Draft, the Chicago Bears picked Justin Fields, who they anticipate will become their franchise quarterback. He led the team for most of 2021, compiling a 6-11 record.

In their division, the Bears came in third place. Chicago didn’t have a pick in the first round, but it did choose Washington CB Kyler Gordon in the second. Allen Robinson, the Bears’ top wide receiver, signed a contract with the Los Angeles Rams, leaving the Bears’ receiving corps vulnerable.

Chicago Bears Analysis – What makes the Bears competitive this season?

The Chicago Bears have made the playoffs twice in the last four seasons and haven’t won the NFC North since 2018, but they haven’t captured a Super Bowl since 1985. Fields will get better, but his record as a starter last year was only 2-8. Fields lost his biggest weapon while still young, and the Bears were unable to replicate his output.

After finishing 22nd in points allowed the previous season, the Bear’s defense didn’t do much to improve. Chicago’s offense took a step back, and they will be depending on Fields, who didn’t start out very well and completed less than 60% of his passes.

Pro Football Focus gave the Bears’ draft and free agency a B- and C, respectively. They were described as “average” all around. They should struggle early and frequently, and that should come through.

The year 2021 saw a lot of change. It turned out to be a significant step back after 2020’s playoff berth. Justin Fields struggled on offense and Matt Nagy struggled to get Justin Fields going. The one bright spot in the Bears’ offensive huddle was Allen Robinson, who has since left for better lands.

Chicago started the year off with a strong 3-2 record, but that enthusiasm quickly faded. In actuality, the Bears lost their next 9 games, finishing 1-8, to complete the season at 6-11. Nagy’s performance in the second half of the season ended his career in Chicago, and he was let go soon after the season was over.

Fields has potential, though, and his ability to play as a dual threat might help Chicago have a successful season. Even if it seems unlikely, it would be a waste of money to wager on the Bears missing the playoffs. Because the NFC lacks the same depth as the AFC, clubs like Seattle and Arizona may slide down the standings. Because of this, the Bears could make a run, but it’s still a good idea to PASS in this situation.
