Former Teammate Reveals the Mentality That Separates Tom Brady From Other Quarterbacks: “I’m Chasing MJ”
When it comes to all-time greats in the NFL, Tom Brady has secured his spot as the best to ever do it, both in terms of the longevity of his career as well as the achievements that he has had over two decades in the NFL.
Brady, who was initially written off during his combines, went on to become the most decorated and feared quarterback the league had ever seen. Now, Brady is on the hunt for his seventh ring. In a recent interview, former teammate LeSean McCoy shared a story that revealed to him the mentality that separates Tom Brady from other great quarterbacks in the league.
He said, “He was like ‘I’m not chasing these quarterbacks, I’m chasing MJ like his mind I’m chasing greatness. He is chasing greatness. I think he got MJ. I know there’s a lot of questions.”
He went on to add that during the season, the team was given a one-week break where most players headed out for vacations, during that time, Brady assembled his offensive team and together with them studied each and every single player on the oppositions’ defense and analyzed the smallest weakness each player had that would give them an advantage. McCoy went on to add that the eye for detail that Brady displayed was second to none and that it motivated everyone on the team to give their 100% every time they stepped onto the pitch.
Tom Brady aims to reach the same level as Michael Jordan
Michael Jordan is considered not only the greatest basketball player of all time, but he is also in conversation to be one of the greatest athletes of all time period. During his career, Jordan was able to display inhuman levels of concentration and commitment to win.
Along with physical fitness, Jordan embodied the saying ‘where there is a will, there is a way’ by pulling his team out of unsalvageable situations multiple times. When it is all said and done, Brady aims to be in the same rarified air as Jordan in the conversation of ‘The greatest athletes of all time’.
