Atlanta Falcons Preseason 2022: Schedule, Fixtures and Live Steam Details

On Tuesday, the National Football League released the precise dates and timings for the 2022 preseason. Six games, including the August 22nd road game between the New York Jets and the Atlanta Falcons, will be shown on national television. In the week leading up to the game, the Falcons and Jets will practice together.

How did the Falcons fare last season?

The Falcons intended to use Mike Davis as the primary running back in a committee system going into the 2021 season. Davis, who attended Stephenson High School and the University of South Carolina, was given a modest two-year, $5.5 million contract in free agency. The strategy failed right away due to weak blocking up front, and carries were finally switched to Cordarrelle Patterson.

The running game had some promising moments, but not enough to keep the team going and win games. Both in Week 4 against the Washington Redskins and Week 16 against the Lions, the Falcons were unable to stall the clock.

With 85.4 yards per game, the Falcons had the 31st-lowest running average in the league. The Falcons were rated 27th in running in 2020 with 95.8 yards per game. The Falcons coaching staff figured out how to best utilize Patterson, a former first-round choice at wide receiver who is also one of the best kickoff returners in the league and a four-time All-Pro.

Six touchdowns and 618 yards (4.0 per carry) were rushed for by Patterson on his 153 attempts. Additionally, he hauled in 52 of his 69 targets for 548 yards and five touchdowns. The Falcons experienced their fourth straight losing season and missed the playoffs for the fourth time in a row. Patterson acknowledges that the Falcons laid the groundwork for a better future.
