Aaron Donald Joins Madden’s 99 Club for the 6th Year in a Row

Los Angeles Rams defensive tackle Aaron Donald joins Madden’s 99 Club for the 6th year in a row in the upcoming Madden NFL 23 game with the highest possible overall rating. He joins San Francisco 49ers offensive tackle Trent Williams, Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver Davante Adams, and Cleveland Browns right defensive end Myles Garrett. More players are expected to join as we reach the game’s release date and all player’s ratings are released this week. Other positions’ 99 players will be revealed according to the timeline here:

Donald’s amazing feats make him tied with Peyton Manning for most appearances in the 99 club, and he’s set to break the record with many years ahead of him for the opportunity. With his team sporting the best record in the AFC West, having garnered 46.5 sacks, and being nominated to six straight first team All-Pro honors, he’s tied with Reggie White, who’s considered one of the top 10 players in league history. His three DPOYs (Defensive Player of the Year) add more to his impressive resume and give more reason for him to be in the 99 club. Donald is set to become the best interior defender in league history.

In modern sports games, a 99 overall is the highest rating you can give a player of any kind, whether it be overall or for specific stats and skills involved. It’s usually reserved only for the best of the best, which is something Aaron has rightfully proven as he is not only the best defensive tackle going into the NFL, but possibly the best player in general in the entire NFL. His unreal athleticism and strength break all boundaries and reasoning as he heads into the next season after winning his first Super Bowl.

Madden NFL 23 is the first game to release since the passing of former coach and sports commentator John Madden, the game’s namesake. The cover features the late John Madden on the back of the cover and is set to release on August 19th on all platforms. You can pre-order the game here.
