‘Nothing better than betting on yourself’ – NFL fans react after Mark Schlereth reveals reason why he left ESPN
Three-time Super Bowl winner Mark Schlereth left his role as an analyst at ESPN for Fox Sports a couple of years ago. And the former guard revealed his reason to switch companies. For a number of years, ESPN’s coverage of professional football featured former NFL tackle Mark Schlereth prominently.
He was a former professional American football player and is currently a sportscaster for television and radio. For 12 seasons (1989-2000), Schlereth played guard for the Denver Broncos and Washington Redskins in the NFL. He presently works for Fox Sports as a football analyst, appearing on FS1 and other shows. Additionally, he and Jorge Sedano co-hosted Sedano & Stink on ESPN Radio from 7 PM to 10 PM ET up until late March 2015, when he quit the show to seek other broadcasting possibilities. He also had an appearance in the 2012 Red Dawn remake and the soap drama Guiding Light.
Why it occurred was explained by Schlereth. The former Broncos star said, ‘’They made an offer to me, but I refused because I wanted to call games and they never put me in the booth on Monday nights. So I took a chance on myself and went to FOX,” he said.
They offered me a deal but I wanted to call games and they were never putting me in the Monday night booth. So I bet on myself and went to @NFLonFOX… https://t.co/lVCapeGLI0

NFL fans were quick to react to Schlereth’s comments on why he left ESPN
Many fans were happy for Schlereth over his decision to leave ESPN for Fox Sports. ‘’It seems to have gone quite nicely. And we’re dang happy to have you’’, wrote Colin Cowherd, Schlereth’s current co-host. “Stop being so kind now; it’s inappropriate. To make up for this, you’re going to have to offer @bakermayfield two portions tomorrow, ‘’one supporter joked.
Another joked, “Man, nothing better than betting on yourself.” while a fourth chimed in, “I’m happy to see you pursuing your passion. But notably on ESPN radio, you are missed.” A fifth commented, ‘’It paid off. I’ve got NFL Sunday Ticket, and it’s always great to drop in on a game you’re in the booth for. Hope you get some of the nationally televised games in the future.’’ another fan added.
Schlereth is missed at ESPN, but it’s obvious that he’s prospering at Fox Sports
I'd say it worked out pretty well

Glad you are doing what you dreamed of doing.
But you are missed on ESPN radio especially.— Prof. Mark Youngkin 🟦 🇮🇱 (@mayoungkin) July 17, 2022
Fox sports is so much better then ESPN now I watch less ESPN shows or content now and keep watching what I like on Fox TBH ESPN keeps getting rid of the people and shows I actually like listening too or watching and keeping the wrong one's #noshadethrown

And we’re damn glad to have ya.

Stop with the nicely nice already- it’s out of character. Now you’re gonna have to give @bakermayfield two segments tomorrow to make up for this.
