Edmunds was chosen by the Buffalo Bills in the sixteenth pick overall in the first round of the 2018 NFL Draft. At 19 years old, Edmunds became the second-youngest player ever selected in the NFL. The Pittsburgh Steelers selected Terrell Edmunds, who is Edmunds’ brother, in the first round (28th overall). They made NFL history by being the first set of brothers to be selected in the first round of the same draught thanks to Terrell’s selection.

Tremaine was born on 2 May 1998 in Danville, Virginia, the United States to parents Ferrell Edmunds and Felecia Edmunds. His parents are very supportive of his career. Ferrell, a two-time Pro Bowl tight end and a seven-year veteran of the NFL, was their high school coach at Dan River in Virginia. Mrs. Edmunds, however, proved to be the rougher coach besides being the stricter parent.
