Two-time Super Bowl winner LeSean McCoy aims cheeky pop at Bill Belichick while commending Tom Brady
In 2020, LeSean McCoy played alongside Tom Brady for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The two of them went on to win a Super Bowl. McCoy spent most of his career in Philadelphia. There he recorded four seasons with at least 1,000 yards on the ground. Although he only saw a little amount of action with the Buccaneers, he ended up sharing a championship with Brady.
In recent remarks regarding Brady, McCoy praised the QB for succeeding more after he departed the Patriots organization, which is continued to be led by Bill Belichick.
On the I Am Athlete Podcast, McCoy stated: “He has good self-control. He makes a good defensive coordinator in my opinion. He isn’t all that amazing in my opinion. They concede a lot of yards since I played against them on offense, right? They do admirably in the red zone. I thus credited him. He’s an excellent coach in my opinion. Also, I think he’s amazing.”
McCoy continued: “One is in the playoffs. One of them has won a Super Bowl, while the other, who is reputed to be an expert on defense, lost by a score of 30 to 40. I’m saying it to you. The year before that, they essentially accomplished nothing, to be honest. Even coming from a man who never wants to compensate players fairly, you must agree.”
Bill Belichick has had a tonne of success in his 22 years as the Patriots’ head coach, starting in 2000. In addition to nine Super Bowl appearances and 31 playoff victories. He has a record six Super Bowl triumphs as a head coach.

Brady’s first campaign without Belichick as his head coach saw the Tampa Bay Buccaneers win the Super Bowl. The Patriots, who finished 7-9, were eliminated from the playoffs. This past season, the Patriots made the playoffs but lost to the Bills 47-17 in the wild-card round. The Buccaneers came close to pulling off one of the greatest comebacks in playoff history but were defeated 30-27 by the Rams, who would go on to win the Super Bowl.
It appears that Brady’s swift transfer to another team and subsequent Super Bowl victory may not simply be a source of resentment for Patriots supporters. After a disheartening 7-9 record the previous season, Belichick has New England back in the playoffs, and this year, rookie quarterback Mac Jones will start for the Patriots against the division foe Buffalo Bills. They would get one step closer to the Super Bowl championship with a victory.
